Foods and drinks that are classified as 2e are low energy density foods (5-10 kilojoules per gram). You can eat plenty of 2e foods - in fact most of the e numbers in your daily meal plan should be 1e and 2e.
2e foods are found in many of the core food groups, which include bread and flour-based products; rice, pasta, cereals and grains; and meat and alternatives. It is important to eat a variety of foods from all the core food groups, to make sure you’re getting all the nutrients you need for a healthy body.
