Foods and drinks that are classified as 3e are medium energy density foods (10-15 kilojoules per gram). Although they are higher energy than 1e and 2e foods, you can include some 3e foods in your daily meal plan.
3e foods include some bread and cereals, higher fat meats, some cheeses and many of the condiments we use to add flavour and interest to our meals.
